Who we are
This notice covers torchdeck.com, the website of torchdeck. torchdeck designs and builds websites, online ordering, customer records and monthly figures for businesses.
torchdeck decides how and why the personal data described here is used, which makes us the controller under UK data protection law. You can reach us at hello@torchdeck.com.
What we collect
Depending on how you use this site, we collect:
- When you book a call: your name, your business name, your phone number and the day and time you pick.
- With a booking, the first page you opened on this site and the site that sent you there, such as a search engine, when the page knows it.
- If you write to hello@torchdeck.com: your email address and what you write.
- Technical data your browser sends when it loads a page: your IP address, the page asked for, the date and time, and your browser and device type.
- A count of visits to each page, with the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and the town your connection is in. It is made without cookies and without your IP address, and it leaves out known bots.
- A count of the phone, email, map and booking links used on this site, with the page and the site that sent the visit. It is made without cookies and without your IP address.
Why we use it
We use personal data for these purposes, and on these legal bases:
- To hold the call you booked, ring you at the time you picked and reply to you. We do this to take the steps you ask for before any agreement.
- To serve the pages, keep the site secure and find faults. We do this for our legitimate interests.
- To see which pages are read, on which devices and from which towns, and which ways of finding us bring bookings, so we can improve the site. We do this for our legitimate interests.
Sending data abroad
Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards the law asks for, such as the UK addendum to standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. If you press Less motion at the foot of a page, your choice is kept in your browser tab until you close it, and nothing else is kept in your browser. The cookies page says more.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data no longer than we need it:
- A booking or a message is kept for as long as it takes to deal with it and then for up to 24 months, unless you become a customer, when we keep your details for as long as we work together.
- Server logs are kept for a short time to keep the site secure, then deleted.
- The counts of visits and links used hold no personal data and are kept as figures.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data, where we have no good reason to keep it
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to a use that relies on our legitimate interests
- give you your data in a form you can move to someone else, where you gave it to us for a contract or with your consent
How to use your rights or complain
Write to hello@torchdeck.com and say what you want us to do. We will answer within one month.
If you are not happy with how we use your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
